"Seven Rock Standards" wurde über den Sommer 2014 in DIY-Manier aufgenommen und im Herbst gemixed. Mitarbeit von externen Leuten wurde weitgehend vermieden.
Der Name ist einerseits Programm und andererseits Ironie – die sieben Titel auf Terra Tomas Neuerscheinung sind schlicht und einfach Rock Songs, nicht mehr, nicht weniger. Kein neues Genre wird mit diesem Album gegründet. Doch verfügt jeder dieser Tracks über seine Eigenheiten. Keine Wiederholung! Jeder Song soll komplett anders klingen, aber im Rock-Mikrokosmos verweilen. Jeder Text soll sich mit verschiedenen Dingen befassen. Man könnte „Seven Rock Standards“ das Anti-Konzeptalbum nennen, Einheitlichkeit soll hier bestmöglich umgangen werden.
