Nach einigen mühsamen Jahren mit Corona-bedingten Sabbaticals und Besetzungswechseln folgte im Februar 2023 der Tragödie zweiter Teil: „The Play (Part Two)“. Das vierte Album von Terra Toma ist die Vollendung einer Geschichte, die Jahre davor mit dem ersten Teil begonnen wurde.
Neun zusammenhängende Tracks behandeln sowohl musikalisch als auch textlich diverse spirituelle und mythologische Aspekte. Raum und Zeit sind hier variabel – es gibt keinen Beginn und auch kein eindeutiges Ende. Ich, du, wir, ihr und sie sind nicht festgelegt. Vielmehr gleicht der Inhalt dieses Werkes einem nicht-chronologischen, chaotischen Gedankenfaden.
Als Basis für „The Play“ wurde Goethes „Faust“ verwendet – die uralte Geschichte: Mann verkauft seine Seele an den Teufel, um ewiges Leben zu erhalten. Der Pakt wird ihm allerdings im Laufe der Zeit zum Verhängnis. Terra Toma’s Adaption des Themas findet im Kopf eines einzigen Menschen statt, dort gewinnt ein zweites Ich an Macht. Zunehmend nimmt es Einfluss auf die Psyche und schließlich auf den ganzen Körper.

After a few laborious years with Corona-related sabbaticals and line-up changes, the second part of Terra Toma's tragedy followed in February 2023: "The Play (Part Two)". Terra Toma's fourth album is the completion of a story that began years before with Part 1.
Nine coherent tracks deal with various spiritual and mythological aspects, both musically and lyrically. Space and time are variable here – there is no beginning and no clear end. I, you, we and they are not clearly defined. Rather, the content of this work resembles a non-chronological, chaotic thread of thought.
As a basis for "The Play" the band used Goethe's "Faust" – basically the oldest and most popular story in the world: man sells his soul to the devil to get eternal life. In the course of time, however, the pact becomes his undoing. Terra Toma's adaptation of the theme takes place in the mind of a single human being, where a second self gains power. It increasingly influences the psyche and ultimately the whole body.
